About John Paulson, M.Photog.Cr. John has won over twenty national awards for his photography. A professional
photographers since 1976, he has spoken to professional photographers throughout the U.S. and in Canada. In addition to his PPA degrees, he holds a B.A. in Art from San Jose State University. His
photographic coverage includes social events, portraits, company parties, and commercial work. Among his list of distinguished clients are Bill Cosby, Jerry Lewis, Ron Brown, Ronnie Lott, and California
governors George Deukmejian and Pete Wilson. A Past President of the Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area, John has earned several awards in their photographic competitions, including First
Place Commercial - 2001.

About Zee Bezabeh, M.Photog.Cr., CPP Zee specializes in family portraiture, wedding and corporate event
photography. He has presented programs throughout California, Arizona, and for the PPA international convention. A photographer for more than 20 years, he also holds a B.S. in Mass Communications from
Florida International University. Zee is a Past President of PPGBA and has served since 1997 as a trustee for Golden Gate School. He has received numerous honors for his work including the prestigious
Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece Awards, and PPGBA Environmental Photographer of the Year.

About the Course This course is designed for those either new to or considering a career in photography. Are you
thinking of going "Pro" or do you have a support staff person that you want to "upgrade" to a photographer? Or, perhaps you've been in the business for a while but need some
reinforcement or clarification of the "basics." This 1-day workshop covers the important "first step" to entering this industry and will give the essential knowledge and information needed to
get started in professional portrait/wedding photography.
In this fast-paced workshop, students will learn about professional level medium format cameras, techniques of exposure metering and
control, and principles of lighting and optics. The class will discuss varied equipment, film types and camera formats, composition and design, and many other basic necessities.
Basic skills of
portrait and wedding
posing and lighting will also be introduced. Participants will be shown the basic skills of working with existing and artificial light during a live studio demonstration as well as an on-location session. Join us for an informative two days with two knowledgeable and talented instructors. Whether you plan to specialize in portraits, weddings, or both, you will walk away with useful knowledge to help you in your professional photographic career.
